Ken was born and raised in Los Angeles to his mother from Abashiri, Japan, and his father from Fukuoka, Japan.

After graduating with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Davis, Ken stayed in Northern California and has been working in the biotechnology industry for 14 years.

In his spare time he enjoys being with his wife and one-year old baby, playing various instruments, and loves listening to jazz.

He also enjoys volunteering his time to help out in the San Francisco Japantown community; he is currently an active member of the San Francisco Taru Mikoshi Ren and is co-founder of both the Osaka Matsuri and Japantown Chounaikai.  Ken has also volunteered much of his time to the broader community including work for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Habitat for Humanity, and volunteering in Northern Japan after the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake after which he and his now wife Kiyomi began dating.
Ken has always had an interest and profound respect for actors and is thrilled that Kikan will be his debut in acting.
